Twitter jerryalderson Jerry Alderson from Railfuture:
Railfuture is a non-political organisation that campaigns for a bigger and better railway in Britain. It is an entirely voluntary organisation that is run by rail users who support its aims. We do not exist to make profits, but to use any income to campaign. Therefore we were delighted when Disco_Pancakes did not ask for any financial reward when he identified a vulnerability on the Railfuture web-site www.railfuture.org.uk.

He explained very clearly with screenshots how to demonstrate the vulnerability and gave links to technical solutions to remove the vulnerability. This was incredibly useful.

Our volunteers fixed the problem within 48 hours and searched all of the code for other instances of the vulnerability.

We are very pleased that he contacted us and was so helpful.

Andrea is very professional and reported an issue responsibly and in a timely manner, with great communication about the scope and potential impact. Though it was a low-severity issue, this was nevertheless something in need of patching and we're always grateful at PrivacySafe to security researchers, especially hardworking volunteers like Andrea.

Many thanks for your reports highlighting a potential XSS bug where a validation step was out of sequence to the initial use.
