Just getting "verifying in progress"

I am a newbie/luser here. I have had a notification for my site (www.coresystemtrust.org.uk), my ISP, in whom I have a very high trust, can't see an obvious problem but clearly we want to explore this but I seem stuck at the verification stage. I mounted a security.txt and I can see it at https://www.coresystemtrust.org.uk/security.txt:
I submitted that for verification days ago (23.xii.20) and rechecking today I saw "verifying in progress" still. I added the mailto and "Not hiring!" today, deleted the old verification request with the delete button and saw it disappear but when I tried to resubmit it for verification I couldn't get the "verify" button to go live (yes, I tried with and without the trailing slash). I have tried again with the address https://www.coresystemtrust.org/ which redirects to https://www.coresystemtrust.org.uk/ but I suspect that's not going to fix the issue.
Any suggestions? What am I missing?
